Denmark and Tunisia will play each other today in Group D of the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Denmark made an impressive run to the semifinals of the Euros last summer, overcoming the shock of Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest in the group stage and turning in one of their best showings at a major competition. Nearly 18 months later, at the World Cup in Qatar, Kasper Hjulmand’s team will try to top that outstanding performance.
The first match for the Danes is against Tunisia in Group D. Tunisia will probably be competing with Denmark for second place in this pool. France is attempting to break the recent trend of defending champions losing in the group stage of the following World Cup elsewhere in the group. Their talented team is predicted to accomplish that and place first in this. Australia is not expected to perform well in Qatar, so this match between Denmark and Tunisia could be pivotal in Group D.
A draw would create an intriguing dynamic in the group going into the final two matchdays, while the winner might position themselves to advance to the knockout stages at the expense of the other team.
Denmark XI: Schmeichel, Kristensen, Andersen, Christensen, Kjaer, Maehle, Hojbjerg, Delaney, Eriksen, Skov Olsen, Dolberg.
Tunisia XI: Dahmen, Drager, Bronn, Talbi, Meriah, Abdi, Laidouni, Skhiri, Msakni, Slimane, Jebali.
