The information below explains how to look up your name on the INEC voter list before the elections in 2023.

Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is getting ready to hold general elections in 2023 that will be the first to employ technology.

While INEC has promised to do everything in its power to ensure that registered voters are not denied the right to vote, the general public is also accountable for doing their share to prepare for electoral participation.

This has prompted the need for the registered voters to check that their names and other personal information are accurate on the INEC portal after going through rigorous registration procedures.

Any potential voter may check their name on the INEC voter register in one of three ways:

  • Check the list INEC will publish
  • Visit the INEC website
  • Send SMS to INEC phone number

INEC released a list.

The list of voters must be published in all of the electoral commission’s offices throughout the federation. When these names are published, you as a prospective voter are supposed to visit the nearest INEC office in your state to see if your name is on the list. When the list of potential voters is made available, INEC will notify the public.
