Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo state, said that 2,000 Southeast businessmen gave N1 billion to help Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the candidate for president of the All Progressives Congress (APC), win the election.
This is what Uzodimma said at the town hall meeting between Tinubu and business leaders from the area on Thursday.
In a statement released Thursday, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, who is the Director of Media and Publicity for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, said that the group was made up of people from the five states in the region.
Uzodinma said, “I am happy to say that our people fully support our Presidential candidate, who has come to share his vision and plans for Nigeria and the South East today.”
“To help reach this goal, N1 billion has been donated by 2,000 business owners from the South East states.”
