On Wednesday, three new Permanent Secretaries of the Federal Civil Service received the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office from President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Permanent Secretaries are Farouk Yabo from Sokoto State, Udom Okokon Ekenam from Akwa Ibom, and Lydia Jafiya from Adamawa.
The ceremony was conducted by the president just before the Federal Executive Council’s (FEC) weekly virtual meeting got underway in the Council Chambers of the presidential palace in Abuja.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who is recovering from a recent major knee procedure, was present at the FEC meeting, according to NAN.
Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the head of the Federal Civil Service, and retired Gen. Babagana Monguno, the chair of the National Security Council (NSA), are also present at the meeting.
The meeting is also being attended by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, as well as the Ministers of Finance, Budget and National Planning; Information and Culture; and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Zainab Ahmed, Lai Mohammed, and Muhammad Bello, respectively.

Others include Otunba Niyi Adebayo, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment; Prof. Ali Pantami, the Minister of Communication and the Digital Economy; Abubakar Aliyu, the Minister of Power; Dr. Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labor and Employment; and Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
