According to the circular released, the school management directed all students to resume on Sunday, 9th June, 2019.
It was disclosed that the Students’ body kicked against the circular directing the students to report back on campus after about two months closure of the institution, frowned at what it described as insincerety on the part of the management.
In a statement signed by the NANS/Joint Campus Committe, JCC, Chairman, Adewunmi Adebowale, Ondo State axis, accused the management of shirking away from the issues on ground and attempting to truncate ongoing dialogue between state government and the students’ Leaders.
The statement read, “It is my delight to first appreciate the entire Nigerian Students, parents, market women, sympathizers, stakeholders and those who for whatever reasons joined us on this titanic struggle to save our educational institution.
“Unfortunately, time is no longer on our side especially as we have special challenge – our unwillingness to pull our resources and work together as students of the same institution without any designation as to who is from where; whether OSUSTECH, AAUA, FECA, ACOED etc.
“The second paragraph of the circular says that the student should resume on campus for the remaining part of the first semester on the 9th of June 2019. We urge our students to disregard this circular. The attitude of some of these managements gave us a focal sign that they are the enemies of now and the future to come as they are only trying to distract us.”
It further read that, “We are confronted with the apparent inability of the authorities to adopt and implement meaningful solutions as we still stand on the policy of NO REDUCTION, NO RESUMPTION. In a lighter vein, we are currently appealing to the state government on the increment looking at it from the economic angle and the political and security implications.
“I will also like to inform you that all security agencies across the state are officially carried along starting from the Director of State Security, the Commissioner of Police among others. This is necessitated by our orientation as law abiding citizens.
“If we are not to turn our backs to our past blunders, then we must sincerely and diligently fight for qualitative education.”
