President Muhammadu Buhari has finally done the needful by ordering some of his Ministers to vacate their posts which they currently hold.
According to The Punch, Buhari gave the order at the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja where he directed Ministers with political ambitions to resign their posts.
This article will mention the Minsters affected by Buhari’s latest order.
They include the Ministers seeking to be President of Nigeria. Many of them have already bought the nomination forms of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and have started going round to seek support.
They include: Rotimi Amaechi (Transportation), Dr Chris Ngige (Labour and Employment), Dr Ogbonnaya Onu (Science, Technology and Innovation), Senator Godswill Akpabio (Niger Delta Affairs), Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba (Minister of State for Education).
Also, the ministers running for governorship and other posts in their various states were also affected by this order given by President Buhari.
Those affected as well are; Abubakar Malami, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation), Paulline Tallen, the Minister of Women Affairs who is running for Senate in Plateau State and Uche Ogar, the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development running for Governor in Abia State.
Buhari’s order came at a time when there have been several calls for the Ministers who have political ambitions to resign and focus on their political plans. After all, many state Governors had long mandated their appointees that have political ambitions to do so and they complied. It is expected that those Ministers affected by Buhari’s directive would do the needful too.
