Ahmed Halilu, the brother of President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife Aisha, has been appointed as the official managing director of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC) Plc.
Since Abbas Masanawa resigned on May 16 to pursue his desire to become governor, Halilu has been filling in.
Halilu was the executive director of corporate services at NSPMC prior to taking on the job of acting MD.
According to information obtained, Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and chairman of the NSPMC board, recommended Aisha’s brother be appointed.
Halilu has over 23 years of experience in the banking sector, having held positions at Zenith Bank Plc. and African International Bank Limited.
He took part in the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies’ senior executive course 39 in 2017 taught by Kuru, Jos.
He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria with a bachelor’s in agriculture, a master’s in business administration, and a master’s in international relations and diplomacy.
