Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate and former vice president, has lost his private secretary, Barr. Abdulahi Nyako.
Nyako died, so the stories say, early on Thursday morning.
Barr. Abdullahi Nyako was more than just a helper; in every sense of the word, he was family to me. He gave me diligent and devoted service. We will sincerely miss him.
In response to the passing, Atiku stated, “On behalf of my family, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the Abdullahi family and ask that the Almighty Allah support and comfort them. He asks Allah to pardon his transgressions and grant him eternal life. Ameen. -AA

Paul Ibe, Atiku’s spokesperson, described Nyako as confirming his passing and said, “Abdullahi was more than an aide; he was a family to me in every meaning of the word. He gave me diligent and devoted service. We will sincerely miss him.
“I would like to offer the Nyako family my sincere condolences on behalf of my family and pray that the Almighty Allah would give them comfort and strength. He asks Allah to pardon his transgressions and grant him eternal life. Ameen.”
