Bowman Lusambo, a minister for the province of Lusaka, has finally lost his parliamentary seat for the Kabushi constituency after the Constitutional Court confirmed the Ndola High Court’s ruling that his election was invalid.

According to the Constitutional Court, Lusambo’s election was rigged and marred by violence, StechiteGist Media gathered.

Judge Edward Musona’s attribution of the NATO forces’ acts of violence in Ndola’s Skyways and Kabushi wards to Lusambo was upheld by Constitutional Court judge Palan Mulonda on the grounds that Musona was constantly present at the scenes of the crimes.

He claimed that because they came in the same vehicle during campaigns in the aforementioned wards within the stipulated time by the Electoral Commission of Zambia, Lusambo and the NATO forces appeared to be inseparable.

When he saw the verdict was not going in his favor at 11:30 a.m., a very upset Lusambo left the courtroom.
