A Federal High Court in Ado Ekiti has dismissed a lawsuit brought by All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Mr. Kayode Ojo that contested Mr. Biodun Oyebanji’s election as the party’s nominee on January 27, 2022.

The court upheld the preliminary objection of Kabir Akingbolu, the attorney for Oyebanji, that the writ of summons and Ojo’s statement of claims were flawed and rendered the matter moot.

Ayo Adegbite Adeoye Aribasoye, Vincent Bewaji Goke Olajide, Lateef Akanle Richard Apollo), Kayode Fasakin Adu Joseph, and Teju Okuyiga are other defendants in the lawsuit.

Olumide Fadipe, Dele Oloje, Victor Adeniyi Folorunso Olabode are the remaining individuals. Local government returning officers included Deji Ajayi, Sunkanmi Onipede, Kemi Olaleye, the secretary, and other members of the Ekiti APC 2022 Gubernatorial Primary Elect Committee.

The court agreed with Oyebanji’s attorney that the differences in the originating processes had made the matter academic in a ruling issued on Thursday by Justice Babs Kuewumi.
