Six tankers and articulated vehicles filled with stolen and illegally refined diesel, according to the corps, were seized from the suspects by its operations.
In Delta, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) detained four people for possessing petroleum from an unlawful source.
At a press conference on Thursday in Asaba, the corps in Delta’s spokesman, Emeka Peters, said that its agents had responded to a tip-off that had led to the arrest at Odorubu Waterside in the Patani Local Government Area.
He stated that six articulated trucks and tankers that were found on the suspects were laden with stolen and illegally processed diesel.
According to Mr. Peters, the suspects used a tanker to block the only entrance to their loading area before being apprehended.
He stated that the corps was looking into the situation and would later bring charges against any suspects. It might interest you to read ASUU Strike: All Kaduna Lecturers Will Be Fired, According To El-Rufai
