Although the scene is shown in the trailer, the film attempts to depict the potential consequences of working with wild animals and how dangerous they can be. The scene is said to have been inspired by Charla’s story.

In 2004, Charla Nash was the victim of a brutal and terrifying Chimpanzee attack. The chimp ripped her hands and face off.Her entire face had to be transplanted. Although the injuries are no longer visible, she has suffered greatly over the last decade. Her face may appear similar before and after the transplant, but the damage was too great for her.

She is now blind, and deaf. Travis, a Chimp that Sandra and Jerome had adopted, attacked her. Nash paid a visit to Sandra’s house one day. She went outside to retrieve the chimp when it bolted, taking the owner’s car keys with it.

Something snapped in Travis, and he began attacking Nash. Despite Sandra’s efforts to save her friend, Charla was severely injured. The mauling lasted 12 minutes. Charla Nash was 55 years old when she was attacked. The incident occurred more than 15 years ago.She is currently in her seventies. Sandra’s family had sued her for $50 million in damages, alleging that she had failed to keep her pet under control.

She was last seen in public in 2016 after undergoing a face transplant. Her whereabouts have remained unknown since then, and there have been no updates on the lawsuit she filed against Connecticut, alleging that officials were negligent in stopping the attack.
