When Noura Jackson was just 18 years old, she witnessed her mother, who was covered in blood, lying on the floor of their Memphis, Tennessee, house. Jennifer Jackson, the 39-year-old victim, had been stabbed 50 times.

When most children her age would be preparing for their senior year of high school or making plans for college, Noura Jackson instead found herself facing a first-degree murder accusation for the death of her mother.

Following a second-degree murder conviction and involvement from the Tennessee Supreme Court, Noura was ultimately released from prison in 2016.
Noura Jackson, who served time in prison for a notorious Memphis murder, has reportedly been arrested in Kentucky on drug possession charges, according to police in the town of Cadiz.

When they saw Jackson pulling items out of her car, Cadiz police stated they had been looking into a report of a suspicious person while they were at a Cracker Barrel.

The police claim to have seized cocaine, marijuana, and prescription medications. Jackson admitted that she owned them all. Jackson was released in 2016 after spending nearly ten years in prison for the Memphis stabbing death of her mother in 2005. She was 18 at the time.

Noura was one of a select group of daughters who, at the time of their mother’s murder, were 18 years old or younger, accounting up 15% of all parricide culprits.

The Tennessee Prison for Women in Nashville, Tennessee, is where she served out her sentence. She was given three years of her sentence credit for the time she spent awaited trial.

Noura was investigated in 2011 for drug use while incarcerated in Tennessee, and she was later found guilty. After the morphine was discovered on Noura, she was sentenced to 10 days in isolation and fined $4. She earned $0.25 per hour at the prison laundry. Since August 2010, Noura has been subject to three disciplinary actions.

Noura Jackson was the lone child of Nazmi Hassanieh and Jennifer Jackson. After the divorce, Jennifer was granted full custody of Noura. On January 26, 2004, a gunman fatally shot Nazmi Hassanieh, a gas station owner in southeast Memphis, at his Kwik Stop place of business.

As a bond trader while raising Noura alone, Jennifer The mother and daughter allegedly had a rocky relationship as evidenced by testimonies from family members and acquaintances, primarily because of Noura’s drug usage and disregard for education.

On June 5, 2005, Noura’s 39-year-old mother, Jennifer Jackson, was brutally murdered in her bedroom by being stabbed over 50 times.

Investigations revealed that Noura had not admitted, when questioned, that she had been caught on a Walgreens security camera buying bandages for a cut on her hand at 4:04 a.m. on June 5.

After getting gas at 4:20 a.m., she claimed to have entered her house at 5:00 a.m. and found her mother dead.

Middle-class areas in the city were stunned and disturbed by local news reports about the startling violence on a quiet block.

On September 29, 2005, Noura Jackson was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after a three-month investigation. The trial started on February 9 at the Shelby County Criminal Justice Center in the heart of Memphis.

15 months and 11 years after making the Alford plea, Noura was granted her freedom.

The jury, which was made up of four men and eight women, found the defendant guilty after hearing the closing arguments. She was found guilty primarily on the basis of circumstantial evidence.
