A mother has been arrested in connection with the gunshot death of her daughter, Ava Phillips, 7.
The shooting death of the child occurred at a family gathering in the Camden Vantage apartments.
Detectives have arrested 44-year-old Kemeka Springfield on suspicion of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
Deshon Collins, another suspect listed by police, is 23 years old, but he has not been located. Collins is wanted for murder, child abuse, aggravated assault, and carrying a handgun during commission of a felony, all of which have active warrants for his arrest.
The cops said a domestic quarrel escalated into gunfire at the party. Ava, according to the police, was shot while inside the residence.
At a press conference on Monday, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis confirmed Phillips’ death.
She said, “It was very painful to see.” A precious life lost once again… Guns are too easily accessible, and as a result, they end up in the wrong hands.
Jonathan Phillips, the little girl’s father, has stated that he will not rest until her killer is brought to justice.
She was an excellent gal, dude. Jonathan Phillips remarked, “She didn’t deserve this.”
