Hassan Usman, one of the abductees from the Abuja-Kaduna train incident who was freed, reaffirmed his continued support for President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
Usman, a lawyer, and his wife Amina were among the travelers kidnapped on March 28, 2022, before his release on July 25.
Usman, who was held captive for more than 100 days, was one of the abduction victims seen in a popular video being tortured by militants.
Usman acknowledged to ICIR that, although continuing to support Buhari, the security record of his administration has been “below average.”
He declared, “I am a staunch supporter of Buhari, but I would give this administration a below-average rating for security.
“Because one of their main duties is to ensure that the government guarantees the lives and property of its inhabitants.
But given the current situation, I can affirm that the government has utterly failed in that regard. There is nothing noteworthy about Nigeria’s security, despite the substantial resources devoted to it.
Usman stated, “I must say it has been a bitter experience, speaking about my experience. Since we were captured, we had to travel a great distance for approximately three days before arriving at a camp where we were held for almost four months, which was actually a horrible experience.
“Because we have spent the most of the time sleeping on the ground since we arrived at that camp. We have been there in the rain and the sun. We were bitten by snakes, reptiles, and mosquitoes for a very long time.
“We have killed more than 10 snakes and some other reptiles like scorpions or what have you.” It might interest you to read I get alot of nudes, ₦50m, ₦100m from BBNaija applicants – Denrele
