A High Court in Kano has sentenced the Proprietor of Nobel Kids Academy and North West Preparatory School, Abdulmalik Tanko, the principal suspect who masterminded the kidnap and killing of 5-year-old school girl, Hanifa Abubakar, to death by hanging.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Usman Na’abba gave the order while delivering his judgment on Thursday.
Justice Na’abba also convicted Tanko to five years imprisonment for four count charges leveled against him.
Recall that Hashim Isyaku, Fatima Jibrin, and Abdulmalik (Proprietor of Nobel Kids Academy and North West Preparatory School) were all charged with five counts of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, confinement, and culpable homicide in violation of sections 97, 274, 277, and 221 of the penal code. They were also joined by their accomplice, Hashim Isyaku.
The second defendant, Hashim Ishyaku, was likewise given a death by hanging and a four-year jail term by the judge, Justice Na’abba (2 years each for conspiracy and concealment).
