The new President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. YC Maikyau, SAN, has taken the oath of office.
On Friday, Olumide Akpata’s term as leader ended, and he replaced Akpata.
Maikyau won the election earlier in July with 38,000 electoral votes, and he was inaugurated in as the 31st President of the NBA.
Maikyau thanked God for getting him this far at the swearing-in event held at the Eko Hotel & Suites.
Along with his campaign team, friends and allies that helped him win the election, he also expressed gratitude to his coworkers at YC Maikyau & Co.
The new President praised the outgoing Akpata administration for the enormous advancements the NBA made during the previous two years.
He pledged to continue and expand upon the admirable accomplishments and initiatives of the Akpata administration.
He offered a hand of friendship to everyone running for NBA President alongside him and said that he and his staff will occasionally stop by to draw on their in-depth knowledge.
“I saw all your great manifestos and your laudable proposals for the NBA. What has happened is that we are now the ones who have been given the responsibility. I invite you all to join hands with us as we build the Nigerian Bar Association to that great heights we all desire,” he said.
