Seven nominations for ministerial positions were sent to the Senate on Tuesday for confirmation by President Muhammadu Buhari.
At the beginning of today’s plenary, a letter addressed to Senate President Ahmad Lawan contained the request for confirmation. The letter was read aloud.
The confirmation request was made in accordance with Section 147 subsection 2 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, according to President Buhari’s letter.

Goodluck Nanah Opiah is one of the names submitted by President Buhari the names of seven ministerial nominees for approval.
Opiah presided over the Imo state House of Assembly as its eighth speaker. In 2013, former President Goodluck Jonathan named him board chairman of the Agricultural and Rural Management Institute (ARMTI).
Opiah later won election to the house of representatives to serve as the representative for the Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta/Oru west federal constituency, StechiteGist Media recounts.
