Seven nominations for ministerial positions were sent to the Senate on Tuesday for confirmation by President Muhammadu Buhari.
At the beginning of today’s plenary, a letter addressed to Senate President Ahmad Lawan contained the request for confirmation. The letter was read aloud.
The confirmation request was made in accordance with Section 147 subsection 2 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, according to President Buhari’s letter.
In this article, we shall be sharing briefly what we know about Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub from Kano State.
Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub is one of the names submitted by President Buhari the names of seven ministerial nominees for approval.
Umar Ibrahim is often regarded as “Milly“.
El-Yakubu served as the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari for issues pertaining to the House of Representatives.
In 2019, he saw his appointment to the position. From 2003 to 2007, El-Yakubu served as a representative in the house of representatives. Buhari replaces Sumaila with el-Yakub as NASS aide (National Assembly Matters, House of Representatives).
Not much is known about Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub, but we shall keep this page updated as soon as we get more credible information.
The full list of other nominees are: Henry Ikechukwu – Abia State, Umana Okon Umana – Akwa-Ibom State; Ekuma Joseph – Ebonyi State; Goodluck Nana Opia – Imo State; Umar Ibrahim Yakub – Kano State; Ademola Adewole Adegorioye – Ondo State; Odo Udi – Rivers State.
