Mickey Guyton is a country music artist from the United States. She is set to sing the national anthem at Super Bowl LVI in 2022. Guyton is a Black female country singer with a warm, textured voice whose sound straddles classic country and contemporary pop. Following the initial buzz generated by her debut single, “Better Than You Left Me,” in 2015, Guyton gained even more attention when her song “Black Like Me” went viral in the aftermath of the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests.

She also earned the first Grammy nomination for Best Country Solo Performance, making her the first Black female artist to do so. The release of Guyton’s full-length debut, 2021’s Remember Her Name, marked the first time a Black artist was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Country Album category.

Guyton is perfectly healthy and disease-free as of 2022. However, in the past, The country music star revealed on Twitter that her intensive care unit admitted her nine-month-old son. He had been admitted to the hospital. Guyton tweeted that Grayson had been unwell since November 11 and was transferred to the intensive care unit when his condition did not improve. She explained that a severe stomach bug was to blame for the dehydration.

Mickey stated that her nine-month-old is “doing much better,” with all his vital signs “stable and improving.” She added, “He is still dehydrated and weak, and he has lost weight due to his inability to retain liquid. Despite this, Gray is a fighter, and his lab results indicate that he is on the right track.”
