The recent gunman attack on Christian worship institutions in Nigeria has been discussed by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari. He claimed that those responsible are politically motivated with the aim of tearing this country apart and igniting religious conflicts.

This was declared on Wednesday by President Muhammadu Buhari through Garba Shehu, who serves as his Senior Special Assistant for Media and Publicity.

Speaking, he asserted that Nigeria’s commitment to religious freedom is what distinguishes it as a great country. He claimed that’s why the adversaries wanted to stoke division by attacking places of religion.

“Cowards, weak and wicked individuals with guns murdering, in cold blood, unarmed women and children at their places of worship,” was how he portrayed the culprits. Adding that he will not allow them have their ways

He pledged to wage a fierce campaign against them and hold them accountable. He claimed that they are being watched by all Nigerian security and intelligence services.

He then pleaded with all well-intentioned Nigerians to unite in prayer for the victims, urging them to not let the culprits pit them against one another.
