Moses Simon made an appearance for Nigeria in the AFCON tournament today as they faced Sudan at the Adjia Stadium. The Nantes winger put up an amazing display in today’s match as he inspired the Super Eagles to a crucial 3-1 win over Burhan Tia’s side.
Nigeria got off to a fast start and got what they deserve for their dominant start on the 3rd minute, after a nice throwing down the right hand side into Moses Simon path who calmly laid the ball off to Samuel Chukwueze who slotted past the Sudanese goalkeeper to break the deadlock for the Super Eagles.
Taiwo Awoniyi doubled Nigeria’s lead from a well worked free kick from Leicester City Star, Kelechi Iheanacho, which was curled in and flick on by Troost-Ekong into the striker’s path, who headed past Ali aboeshren.
Moses Simon added to Nigeria’s lead with a fine solo run, skipped past a couple of tackles, before smashing in for 3-0W. Khidir got a late consolation for the Sudanese national side from the penalty spot after VAR spotted an infringement in the penalty area.
Moses Simon was one of the best players for Nigeria in today’s encounter after his stunning performance against the Sudanese national side. The 26-year-old scored a stunning goal and also provided an assist for the opener. The Nantes forward was voted the man of the match award after his fantastic display today.
