The Ondo state government has directed all public and private school students to resume for the purpose of writing their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Following a circular released, the government has approved the reopening of public and private secondary schools.
In a bid to curtail the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the state government ordered that schools to open from 8:00am to 2:00pm from Monday to Fridays.
In addition, the government directed management of the schools to make disinfectants available and thoroughly fumigate their premises.
Students and Staff are to regularly wash their hands and the welfarism must be provided by the school authorities.
The government had said WAEC SSCE is to hold from 17th August to 18th September 2020, while NECO SSCE holds from 5th October to 18th November, 2020.
The circular reads:
“Sequel to the release of a comprehensive schedule for the conduct of the various National Examinations by the Federal Government after series of meetings with the Chief Executives of examination bodies in the country, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.”
“Ondo State wishes to notify you about the approval to re-open all the public and private secondary schools in the state on Monday, 4th August, 2020, for the students in SSS 3 class only for the purpose of writing the Senior School Certificate Examinations (WAEC and NECO).”
