According to a French Jewish anti-Semitism watchdog group, a Jewish man was slain in France by his Muslim roommate, who claimed to have done it because the victim was Jewish and because he owed him 100 euros.
The National Bureau of Vigilance against Antisemitism (BNVCA) released a statement on August 20 announcing the murder of Eyal Haddad, 34, in Longperrier, a small town northeast of Paris.
According to BNVCA, the victim is thought to be from Djerba, Tunisia, and his family resides in Beersheba, Israel.
The Jewish community has brought up the incident on social media and questioned why there have been no formal replies from French authorities, according to a story in Algemeiner.
“A Muslim suspect is suspected of committing the murder. The quiet surrounding this matter is concerning, according to the BNVCA. The statement continued, “The suspected offender handed himself in to police, was arrested, and was placed in detention.”
