The Osun State Police Command responded to the early-morning shooting of Isaac Fayose by requesting the victim to go to the nearest police station because the incident hasn’t been reported to any of the state’s police stations.

This information is provided in a press release that the state PPRO, SP Opalola Yemisi, issued and signed on Tuesday.

Part of the statement reads;

The Command is aware of a social media story that claims Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, “narrowly missed death by the whiskers from gunmen strikes along Gbongan-Ife-Ibadan Highway, on August 29, 2022.”

The Command would want to let the public know that no such occurrence has been reported in any area of the State. The general public is urged to report any complaints or incidents to the local police station rather than posting them online.

In a similar vein, the Command is requesting/asking Mr. Isaac Ayodele to report to any nearby police station in the state or call this number 08067788119 (PPRO Osun) for proper documentation and investigation in order to know exactly what happened. The Command is also advising the public to take the time to confirm the veracity of any information they receive via social media before sharing it.

Under the direction of CP Olawale Olokode, the Osun Police will continue to make every effort to protect the safety and property of the State’s residents and travelers.
