On Wednesday, the tech giant Apple is going to release its newest iPhone, and at the same event, the corporation is likely going to unveil updated versions of both the iPhone and the Apple Watch.
For the first time, some of the devices will be manufactured in countries other than China.
Foxconn’s iPhone production site in India will ship the new 6.1 iPhone 14 practically concurrently with China for the first time in the second half of 2019, according to a report that was published by Ming-Chi Kuo the previous month.
The New York Times made note of the fact that Apple’s proposal to manufacture some iPhones in India would still include the participation of Chinese businesses in the nation.
Foxconn, which already manufactures iPhones in factories throughout China, will lead the assembly of the device by Indian workers in India with support from nearby Chinese suppliers, including Lingyi iTech, according to two people who are familiar with the matter. In China, Foxconn already manufactures iPhones in factories throughout the country.
Gene Munster, general partner of Loup Ventures, a technology research firm, said, “They want to diversify, but it’s a long road.” They are extremely reliant on China in many ways.
According to a report from Bloomberg, the tech giant has been working with suppliers to increase production in India, and it is anticipated that the first iPhone 14s manufactured in the nation will be ready in late October or November, following the first release in September.
