In Ogun state, the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) governorship candidate, Professor David Bamgbose, has passed away.
Professor of Educational Management Bamgbose passed away a week after being unveiled by party chairman Samson Ogunsanya at a meeting with party officials and stakeholders in Abeokuta last Saturday.
When Ladi Adebutu became the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for governor, he stood down as an aspirant for the position.
However, he said that the “injustice” he experienced prompted him to switch parties from PDP to PRP.
Our reporter heard that Bamgbose passed away at the Lantoro Hospital in Abeokuta on Friday morning following a brief illness.
His assistant, Mr. Oduntan Olayemi, verified the incident to reporters in Abeokuta.
He explained that Bamgbose, a priest himself, had complained of fatigue the day before and been brought to a local hospital, from whence he was transferred to Abeokuta’s Federal Medical Central.
Yesterday, he complained of feeling fatigued, so we took him to a local hospital in the Olomore area. For additional testing, we were directed to FMC.
For this reason, we went to Lantoro State Hospital, where he was brought to the emergency room and is still receiving oxygen therapy to this day (Friday).
This morning when I returned to the hospital, he was breathing very quickly and heavily. Olayemi explains, “I got a call from where I went to buy him some prescribed medication and he had already gone away.
