Q: Please can you tell us your real name?
My real name is “Dayo Adedeji”. I’m popularly known as “D1 Dynasty” and I’m mostly called “Dynasty”
Q: How did you come up with that name?
Tell us the story behind it.
A: Well, it was back when i was in secondary school and D1 was a common nick name for everyone named “Dayo” even up till now.
I wanted something different and i wanted something that relates to Royalty cos the meaning of my surname “Adedeji” relates to that.
So that’s how i came up with Dynasty but in this case it’s pronounced as “Dye-nasty” so it can sound fun.
Q: How and when did you start being active on Twitter and was Twitter the social media you started with?
A: I started being active around September/October 2019.
And Twitter wasn’t the Social media I started with. I started content creation on Instagram before I moved to YouTube too and now Twitter
I would rate my Activity “Twitter >> Instagram >> other social media platforms”.
Q: And how active are you on Twitter?
A: I’m very active, let’s say 8/10. Well, i was posting my dance videos and that didn’t work so I first started puns which I’m good at then I started posting thread of funny stuffs then i created my Pun series called “The Heartbreak series” which got lots of Engagements.
Now I do Banter but I believe I’m an all round content creator.
At the end of the day, it’s just me being funny on the Timeline.
Q: What made you consider giving Twitter a trial?
And how was it like starting to grow followers in the noble street of Twitter?
A: I was only posting my funny takes and thoughts on my WhatsApp status then My Friend @_hushm3 told me my contents on status are very good and if i put that energy in Twitter, it will make sense cos twitter likes that kinda stuff
Then we went to Google experience 2019 where we met some Influencers and musicians and then i realized i have what it takes to be a Digital marketer and an Influencer so i just gave it a try.
Now, i discuss marketing strategies with my close friend “Shank” and as for Influencing, i believe I’m not where i want to be yet but I’m very grateful for the growth thus far.
The Growth has been amazing, i have literally seen my posts in many places i didn’t expect ; on Instagram pages, on TV stations, WhatsApp TVs, announced on radios and i believe my favorite was when i Trended on Twitter.
I’m a Content Creator and i always want to be consistent and do more
I love making people happy right from when i was a kid and i still do.
I also love growing in every aspect of my life. So it’s been amazing.
Q: If I may ask, can you remember the first post you made that went viral
And what extra effort did you do to make that possible?
A: Lmao, I can’t forget. I was at 1.5K followers and Alex, who is popularly known as “Four-eyed Edo boy” was always telling me to improve my craft in creating content so i took like 2 days to create a pun conversation thread. I posted it and to my surprise it got like 1K RTs and it boosted me to 2K+ followers.
From there, I started taking my time to create good contents and with time I got better.
I also attribute my content creation growth to tweeps like Farouq, Dan skili, Boluwa, Local Man and my close friend Steven (@ricomoofficial).
Q: So can we say creating pun conversations made you popular in the noble street of Twitter?
A: I won’t say it made me popular but I would say it was one of those things that did.
It started my content creation career lol but I won’t say that’s only what made me popular.
Q: Can you tell us about your current educational status?
A: I’m a Student at UniAbuja.
Q: What inspires you to create good contents?
A: I love making people happy.
Q: What business do you do for a living?
A: Digital Marketing.
Q: If I many ask, what does it takes to become a digital marketer?
