Within its borders, China has found a brand-new, possibly lethal virus that, according to specialists, might start yet another pandemic.
According to Taiwan’s Centers for Disease Control, the Langya Henipavirus, sometimes known as “Langya,” has already infected 35 people. It belongs to the same family as the Hendra virus and the Nipah virus.
The virus has not previously infected humans, therefore there are many unknowns, even though none of the patients have died or experienced major disease.
It has the potential to cause substantial harm because it falls under the Henipavirus category. According to WHO data, henipavirus has a 40–75% fatality rate.
The signs, such as a fever, headache, cough, and exhaustion, may seem all too familiar, Stechitegist media learned.
The New England Journal of Medicine reported that the afflicted patients had a history of interaction with animals, but it’s now probable that the virus has already been spread from person to person.
