The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has confirmed that two Nollywood actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, were kidnapped and that the kidnappers have demanded payment of $100,000 (more than 41 million Naira) in exchange for their safe release.
This confirmation comes many hours after it was first reported that Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel were missing and may have been kidnapped.
The national president of the AGN, Emeka Rollas, reaffirmed this information. He told the Premium Times in a statement that “the kidnappers have gotten in touch with the families and are seeking the payment of $100,000. We ask God to intervene and to create turmoil among them in their midst.
We collaborate closely with the various security personnel as well, but we are unsure what to anticipate from them given that the same thing is occurring across the nation.
A few hours earlier, Enugu State police command officers had discovered Cynthia Okereke’s abandoned automobile. The vehicle was discovered on the Enugu-Port-Harcourt Expressway in the Ozalla neighborhood of Enugu’s Nkanu West Local Government Area.
