1,000 APC Members Decamp To PDP

Dr Aji Kolomi, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) 2019 gubernatorial candidate in Yobe State, was among hundreds of members of the ruling party who joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recently.
He was welcomed into the PDP’s fold alongside hundreds of his supporters at the main opposition party’s secretariat in Damaturu, the state capital.

Tinubu Tenders Apology Over Misleading Claim

A leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has apologised for a misleading claim he made concerning the Permanent Voter Cards.
While addressing some of his supporters in Abuja, Tinubu had encouraged them to register ahead of the 2023 elections because their PVCs had expired.
In response to the backlash that followed the misleading information, Tinubu’s media team issued a statement saying the APC chieftain mistakenly used the word ‘expire’ instead of stating that PVCs may have to be updated.

The former governor, however, maintained that the Southeast region was overdue to produce the next president of the country, adding that there were only two zones yet to produce the president which are the Southeast and Northeast geo-political zones.
INEC Speaks About Underage Persons

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday said it was undertaking a comprehensive cleaning up of the voters’ register to remove under-aged persons who may attempt to vote during the exercise.
The chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, gave the assurance in Abuja during the commission’s first quarterly meeting with civil society organisations.
He maintained that only eligible citizens would be added to the voters’ register for the 2023 poll.
NGF Speaks About Labour

The Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) on Thursday said it will engage the organised labour unions on the removal of fuel subsidy in the country.
Governor Kayode Fayemi, NGF Chairman, made this known while briefing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.
