VIDEO: How Alvarez Got Saved After She Fainted And Sank During World Aquatics Championships

During the World Aquatics Championships, Olympic swimmer Anita Alvarez, a two-time medalist, passed out and fell to the bottom of the pool.


Andrea Fuentes, her Team USA coach, dove in to save her, picking up her lifeless corpse and hurling her back to the water’s surface.

A message from Fuentes claiming that Alvarez had been properly examined by doctors and was recovering was shared on Instagram by the official USA artistic swimming account.

The athlete was “feeling well now,” she said, thanking everyone for their well wishes.
At the world championships, American artistic swimmer Anita Alvarez fainted and sank to the bottom of the pool. In that instant, her coach Andrea Fuentes decided: To save her, she dove in.

Alvarez’s coach says she is now doing “fine.”
