The actress, who was fired from the popular Arewa24 film series, claimed she is not a lesbian and that she has never shared anyone any of her naked photos or films in an interview with BBC Hausa on Tuesday, August 30.
Safara’u acknowledged taping herself in the interview while nude, but she insisted she had no intention of sharing it.
“These days, 70% of women have these kinds of films on their phones. While many women do it, it is only done for enjoyment and not to post on social media. I’m unable to identify the individual who posted the video, but I can only assume that one of my friends or associates stole my phone. I give them my phone, thus.
When I saw the video and how it became so popular all around the world, I was utterly startled. In fact, I was unable to stand when I first heard the news. I faced many difficulties, and I was made fun of. At one point, someone even stoned me in response to that video. I had to stay inside for three months without venturing near our front gate.
